Update #2: The search has been suspended, the suspect was not located. If you have information about this case, please contact the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office 352-793-2621 or to remain anonymous contact Crimeline 1-800-423-TIPS(8477). 

Law enforcement activity updated

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is in the area of CR 683D and CR 683D1 in Croom. Deputies will be searching for a suspect with active warrants identified as Tommy Capelle. There is lno threat to public safety at this time however,  we ask that you contact law enforcement if you see him. He was last seen on CR 683 D and 683 D1 on a blue motorcycle wearing a black helmet. The helicopter will be utilized as a part of this investigation. As this is an active investigation please note information regarding the incident is limited, but currently isolated. If the status changes the notification will be updated. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at 352-793-2621.
