On February 3, 2023, members of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Squad executed a narcotic search warrant at 3913 CR 405C within the Lake Panasoffkee area of Sumter County. The residence is maintained and in the physical control of Kathy Marie Young. The execution of the search warrant stems from on-going investigations in which the Sumter County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Squad is combating illicit drug sales in the Lake Panasoffkee, Sumterville, Croom, Nobleton, and Bushnell areas.
During the execution of the search warrant numerous structures were located on the property. During the search of the structures on the property, approximately 39.34 grams of Methamphetamine, approximately 2.47 grams of fentanyl, and approximately 26 grams of Hydrocodone, and less than 20 grams of marijuana were located. Also located within the residence and structures were numerous items of drug paraphernalia, which included plastic baggies for packaging illicit drugs, digital scales, glass smoking devices, and three firearms, a Church Hill 12ga shotgun, a Jennings 380 semiautomatic handgun, and a LC9R Ruger 9mm semiautomatic handgun were discovered during the search. Also located was a stolen trailer, which was recovered and returned to the owner.
The Special Investigations Squad located and arrested the following individuals for several narcotic related offenses:
Kathy Marie Young was arrested for Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell, Keep/own a Structure Used to Sell Drugs, Possession of Marijuana less Than Twenty Grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell, Possession of Fentanyl with intent to sell, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was given a total bond of $49,000, which was set by the court.
Ronald Glenn Perry was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell, Keep/own a Structure Used to Sell Drugs, Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to sell, Possession of Fentanyl with intent to sell, Possession of Marijuana less Than Twenty Grams, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was given a total bond of $24,000, which was set by the court.
Dewayne Henry Jackson Bryant was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was given a total bond of $3,000, which was set by the court.
Brittany Nicole Cole was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was given a total bond of $3,000, which was set by the court.
James Woodrow Young was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was given a total bond of $3,000, which was set by the court.
Christina Marie Bolitho was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Less Than Twenty Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was given a total bond of $2,000, which was set by the court.
Lamardreniq Raheim Warthen was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Less Than Twenty Grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where he was given a total bond of $2,000, which was set by the court.
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office emphasizes that these arrests are only a small part of their on-going effort to combat drug activity in the county. Enforcement efforts will continue throughout Sumter County and the Sheriff's Office is asking for help from the community.
