The Helicopter has returned to the hangar. The situation is resolved and there was no threat to public safety.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is utilizing its helicopter as part of a specific incident, at a specific location.  As this is an active investigation please note information regarding the incident is limited, but currently isolated. If the status changes the notification will be updated.
