County of Sumter issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.
US 301 and C-472/CR 216 signal construction is near completion. The new traffic signal is scheduled to go into a flashing operation beginning on November 30, 2021, and continue until the signal is fully operational on December 8, 2021. Please use caution when traveling US 301 and C-472/CR 216 during the flashing operation. The existing STOP signs and Plastic Traffic Separators will remain effective until the intersection is placed into full operation.
As a reminder, a flashing red signal is treated as a stop condition, and a flashing yellow signal is treated as a proceed with caution. If all signals at an intersection are flashing red or the intersection is dark, it should be treated as a four-way stop.
