Sumter County issued the following announcement on Sept. 23.
According to the Florida Small Business Development Center, nearly 375 manufacturing firms are located in Sumter County. These firms, large and small, produce a diverse array of products in our community.
EMSI Analytics estimates these 375 firms employ approximately 1,300 workers with average earnings per job of $68,817.
The Board of County Commissioners supports this important, targeted industry and organizations involved in advocacy and support of educational and career advancement opportunities for our residents in the manufacturing sector.
