Media Release-Child Pornography Arrest
This morning Detectives with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 7250 E. SR 44 Lot 86 (Rails End RV Park). Detectives assigned to child exploitation investigations and who are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force received information that an individual residing at this address was distributing Child Pornography. After several weeks of investigation, probable cause was developed to obtain the search warrant.
At the conclusion of the search warrant, Mark Porter was arrested and transported to the Sumter County Detention Center. Mark is charged with 8 counts of distribution of child pornography, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges may be filed in this case. Mark Porter is being held with an $18,000 bond.
